Forever and Lever: the Midnight Madness (English version)

Hi guys!

Here we are. First time of Forever and Lever, the column I’ll make this season on Pallaconestro to give you a little taste on my college experience in Arizona, where I am coached by former Suns and Dream Team II player Dan Majerle.

As you may know, this season I moved from Reggio to the United States in order to attend Grand Canyon University and play in the NCAA (I’m the tallest guy in the team), so I just wanna briefly tell you how the things are going down here in Phoenix so far and I thought it would have been fine to do so after the Midnight Madness, the first landmark of our season after a short tour in Barcelona in August…

I arrived in GCU just two more than two months ago and I fell immediately in love with this place!!! Let’s talk about the facilities of the campus. Our training ground, for example, is reserved only to the basketball team, while GCU Arena hosts 7.500 fans…

We haven’t started the regular season games, so for now I only had a little taste of the mad, hardcore, and sometimes exagerate (one of them has eaten a not peeled ananas for the joy of the others), support of the student section which call itself the “Havocs”…

Let’s start saying that they planted tents outside of the Arena to became the firsts to enter at the Midnight Madness…Led by coach, we dediced to bring them some pizzas in order to repay for their amazing support.

During the team presentation they went completely mad and you can’t imagine their reaction after they acknowledged a scrimmage (5 on 5) was scheduled: they were going mental! An insane situation, my heart was going wild for the emotion!!!

I think this will be one of the greatest experiences of my life…

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that…during the Madness, coach Majerle made his entrance by descending from the roof dressed as a pirate LOL

Can’t wait for the season to start. Here are some photos and videos, see you next time!
